The ImAFUSA Project stepped onto the international stage in September, with the ISCTE team, the project's lead partner, presenting work to international audiences at two important transport conferences.
Key work regarding the social acceptance of drones and innovative air mobility (IAM) was presented at the European Transport Conference (ETC) 2025 in Antwerp and the Euro Working Group on Transportation (EWGT) 27th Annual Conference in Edinburgh.
Helena Almeida, research assistant at ISCTE, presented research on social acceptance of Innovative Air Mobility (IAM) at both conferences.
The focus at EWGT was on the factors that affect social acceptance of IAM, producing relevant insights for industry stakeholders, policymakers, and mobility operators to design IAM services that meet public acceptance.
At ETC 2025, the acceptability and acceptance indices of IAM were presented. These form an important tool for the introduction of IAM, reinforcing not only the distinction between the terms acceptability and acceptance but also that the successful implementation of IAM services requires a holistic approach that addresses safety, environmental, socioeconomic, urban planning, and public perception factors.
